From a broken golf club to a golf belt
Years ago, when I turned my broken favorite lob wedge into the “original golf belt”, people congratulated me on this “superb idea” (some of them even wanted to buy the prototype that I was currently wearing in my trousers) so often that I decided to satisfy that demand.
After a short test phase, it was clear: those belts are as exclusive as my passion for golf, and they are a symbol of it. In order to keep this product unique, and to keep imitators away, I patented the golf belt – as well as the name Golfbelt – in the world’s major “golf countries”.
During a photo shoot, Axel Schulz, a former pro boxer and a golf enthusiast, formulated a product description that is almost philosophical: “Playing golf is relaxing and challenging time and time again. Golfbelt is a symbol of my passion.” No advertising writer could have found better words.
Surprisingly, people liked to wear my “original belt” with suits and jeans even more than they liked to wear it on the golf course. My wife told me that the interest among female golfers was even higher. In addition, numerous companies, clubs, and tours were interested in this extravagant accessory – which formed the basis of our range of products:
